Cookie banner

A cookie consent banner that uses Shopify's own Customer Privacy settings, so analytics and marketing tracking follow the shopper's choice.

Set it up

1. In admin, go to Settings → Customer privacy and set up cookie consent: choose the regions where you need consent (for example the EU and UK).
2. In the theme editor, go to Theme settings → Cookie consent and turn on Enable cookie consent banner.
3. Choose the banner position and colour scheme, and optionally your own message and privacy link.

How it behaves

• The banner shows only to visitors in regions where consent is required by your Customer privacy settings. Visitors elsewhere never see it.
• Accept and Decline are passed to Shopify, which turns analytics and marketing tracking on or off for that shopper, including Shopify's own analytics and connected apps.
• Once a shopper chooses, the banner doesn't come back.
